OutSFL is proud to launch the Melissa St. John College Student Scholarship, honoring the legacy of beloved drag illusionist and LGBTQ advocate Melissa St. John. This annual scholarship will support an LGBTQ-identifying undergraduate and / or graduate student who demonstrates a deep commitment to community service and leadership.

The front-runner in Florida’s deepest blue congressional district pulled no punches in his response to the State of the Union speech. 

Winning a scholarship named after Melissa St. John felt especially personal to Ky Walker. He has known her for years through the local drag community, and he said she helped shape the world he grew up in.

Curiosity and anxiety. Those seem to be the two most common responses to property tax reform in Florida. The legislature is working on several iterations and some type of change is likely to make its way to the November ballot and would require 60% of voters to approve. Any change wouldn’t take effect until the 2028 budget year, which begins on Oct. 1, 2027.

The Palm Beach Pride Pageant took place last weekend at The Lake Worth Playhouse in Lake Worth Beach. Compass Community Center was the host of the event, as they've done for many years in the past. This year was also a tribute to the former queen and kings. Beloved queens, Melissa St. John and Camille Dior Love, served as MCs.
