Every year, six Florida agencies benefit from proceeds of the SMART Ride. That’s $15 million over the first 19 years, and the past few years has been around $1 million a year.
The shockwaves that went through South Florida’s activist community over the weekend are still being felt. Todd Delmay is becoming executive director at SAVE, the political organization that represents the interests of LGBTQ in Florida.
The SMART Ride, the venerable fundraiser that’s collected nearly $15M over 19 years, is coming to an end. OutSFL broke the news on social media Sept. 16, and Founder Glen Weinzimer and Executive Director Todd Delmay confirmed the news in a press release a short time later.
