Everyone who returns from trips to Asia always raves about the street food carts. Delray Beach has a restaurant that specializes in that fare. So, if you can’t afford a quick trip to the Far East, head to Delray’s Hawkers Asian Street Food for a quick vacation fix. Hawker’s may be a chain (there are a dozen or so locations, mostly up and down the Atlantic seaboard), but the Delray location is the only one in South Florida. Is the food authentic? Maybe not, it’s been adapted for the American palate, but like all good Asian street food it mesmerizes all five senses: sight, smell, sound, touch, and of course, taste.

The service is never hurried and true to the familial aspect is a little less polished, but that’s a minor quibble when everyone is so eager to please.
Did you know that you can travel the globe without ever leaving Oakland Park? Wilton Manors’ northern neighbor brings the world to your doorstep with its international cuisine. Savor the flavors of Mexico at Tacos and Tatts, El Guanaco offers Spanish and Salvadoran fare, Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is self-explanatory, and Bulegreen has its roots in Brazilian culture. Two of the newest places in Oakland Park add a couple more stops on your global tour.

Sure his powers were lame, talking to fish, but his long flowing blond hair made him different from other superheroes. I got to relive those fantasies as I sat in the Wreck Bar at the B Ocean Hotel and took in the Aquamen Burlesque show.
When Le Colonial opened its first restaurant in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood in 1993, its unusual (for the time) combination of upscale Vietnamese fare became an instant sensation among Chicago socialites.
