Palm Beach County court judge candidate Lourdes Casanova received the majority of votes in her primary race on Aug. 20, just weeks after a Christian organization rescinded its “highly qualified” rating from her.

More than half of the candidates endorsed by the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council (PBCHRC) received a majority of votes in their respective races in the primary election.
A Christian organization rescinded its “highly qualified” rating from Palm Beach County court judge candidate Lourdes Casanova after learning she was endorsed by an LGBTQ civil rights group.
A glow with guests sporting LEDs and shimmering sequins, Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center celebrated its annual Stonewall Ball at the Downtown West Palm Beach Hilton. The fundraiser began with a VIP cocktail reception followed by a three-hour dance party under the theme, “Love, Lights and Liberation.”
Garden District Taproom bills itself as West Palm Beach’s “first self-pour taproom.” They will be hosting a Queer Pop-Up Market on June 29 from 6-10 p.m.
Despite early heavy rains, the skies cleared just in time for the 4th Annual Pride 5k in West Palm Beach. The race, presented by Night Runners West Palm Beach, took place at the waterfront park in downtown on June 8. This year, the event featured a Health & Wellness Expo highlighting many health and wellness resources and local LGBTQ businesses.
Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center is closing out Pride Month with their Stonewall Ball, which has been ongoing for over 20 years. The event will take place June 29 from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Hilton West Palm Beach.
Respectable Street is closing out Pride month with a dance party hosted by drag performer TP Lords, featuring genres from Diva House to 2000s hits.
