From pasta rolling to festive basket-making and a pop-up at Oktoberfest Miami, Convivio Bookworks offers South Floridians three rare chances this fall to celebrate tradition, craft, and community.
Tucked inside a Lake Worth Beach warehouse, Convivio Bookworks is a family-run space where books, food, and handmade goods come together in seasonal celebration. The shop doesn’t keep regular hours — it opens only for special gatherings that turn tradition into community.
In early fall, the owners will open their shop doors twice for unique how-to workshops, offering South Floridians a rare chance to step inside. Too far? They’ll be on the road too!
- Carbs! On Sept. 14, co-proprietor John Cutrone leads a hands-on Mambricoli Workshop ($85), teaching the rustic pasta from his family’s region of Southern Italy. Guests roll dough at the long table and leave with both recipes and stories.
- On Oct. 4, guest instructor Deborah Desser hosts a Professional Gift Basket Workshop ($95), showing how to design festive, polished baskets just in time for the holiday season. Participants can bring in their own items to assemble and wrap or take advantage of a workshop discount on in-store purchases to fill their basket.
And later in October, Convivio takes its wares on the road for Oktoberfest Miami at the German American Social Club (Oct. 10–12 and 17–19). A crowd favorite, their booth will be stocked with handmade German goods — from carved incense smokers to traditional candles — alongside seasonal books and global artisan crafts.
Convivio doesn’t open often, but when it does, it offers South Floridians a rare chance to celebrate the everyday.
