Sipping Island Spirit: Our Mutiny Vodka Adventure at the Hard Rock

There are afternoons that shimmer just a little brighter, and this one, with my close friends Sharma and Brooke, was one of them.

It was time to try out some exclusive cocktails made with Mutiny Vodka, and I was excited to make this a part of our summer afternoon!

We headed to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, a place we’ve loved for concerts, dinners, and spontaneous girls' nights out. But this time, we weren’t there just for the scene, we were on a mission to try something new: drinks Mutiny Island Vodka.

Mutiny Vodka is distilled from breadfruit and pure Caribbean rainwater. It’s clean, citrusy, with a dash of green banana, making it an elegant and tropical spirit.

As a Puerto Rican woman, I’ve always known the spirit world through the lens of rum. But Mutiny opened a different door, one that honors island culture in a bold, surprising way.

Three Friends, Three Cocktails

Our first stop was Center Bar, where the Espresso Martini made its entrance.

The cocktail was smooth, rich, and balanced with a buzz that paired perfectly with the hotel’s nightlife energy, and I can see why it would fit in perfectly with a place that’s full of life.

Then it was off to the Beach Club, where got to enjoy the poolside and tropical ambiance of the resort, and all of the fun energy that those in attendance provided while there.

The Caribbean Cosmo was my favorite pick: a juicy, citrus-forward cocktail that felt like summer in a glass. 

The girls were fans as well of the Sundeck Spritz, a refreshing blend that shimmered with bubbles and a hint of fruit.

Let’s just say, as adventurous tasters, we all sampled both and declared them “dangerously good.”

Every sip told the story of Chef Todd Manley, the visionary behind Mutiny. 

A chef-turned-distiller who fell in love with the Caribbean, he transformed a dream, and a humble fruit, into something different. His passion is present in every pour, and seeing it take center stage at Hard Rock, from Kuro to Council Oak, is a testament to his craft.

A Spirit with a Story

What sets Mutiny apart isn't just the flavor, it's the purpose behind the bottle that many will hold in their hands.

Breadfruit is a superfood, climate-resilient and rich in history, now used in a zero-waste distillation process. Every bottle supports sustainability and celebrates Caribbean heritage. Even the name “Mutiny” nods to the legendary sea voyage that brought breadfruit to the islands, a rebel spirit that now flows through Hard Rock’s dynamic venues.

And while Mutiny may be the official well vodka of Hard Rock Live, it doesn’t need a spotlight to shine. It thrives in a sleek cocktail, in a cozy corner of the L Bar, or even poolside as part of the Ginger & Turmeric ROOTS Infusion set to roll out this summer.

Here’s the Recipe for the Caribbean Cosmo:

Ingredients:

  • Two slices of orange
  • 2 oz Mutiny Vodka
  • 0.75 oz Solerno Liqueur
  • 0.75 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • 0.60 oz Lime Juice

Directions:

Muddle the orange slices gently in a shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist for that tropical island touch.
