
In a time when LGBTQ rights seem to regress every day, some say we need to remember the movement is a work in progress. That was the message of the three-event, two-day program Pride In Progress.
Tampa Pride announced a “one-year hiatus” Sept. 19 in a letter addressed to and detailing the termination of President Carrie West.
The Oakland Park City Commission voted unanimously on Sept. 5 to place a historical marker at the site of the first official SFAAA gay softball game at Wimberly Athletic Fields. This marks the first LGBTQ historical marker in Broward County and the first anywhere in the United States for a gay softball league.
This year will bring a couple of firsts for Wicked Manors. One, they will be using metal detectors at entrances and two, they are getting help from the city.
Like all municipal governments in Florida, Wilton Manors must pass a balanced budget by the end of the month. On Sept. 12, the city commission began finalizing some of the numbers.
