Get ready for good vibes, great food, and an even greater cause. Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center is turning up the heat with Summertime Madness, a luau-themed bash to benefit their participation in this year’s Joy Ride, a multi-day cycling fundraiser supporting LGBTQ+ health and wellness across Florida.
The event will take place on July 27 from 2-7 p.m. at Mad Hatter Bar, located at 1532 N Dixie Highway in Lake Worth Beach. Expect jello shots, a pig roast, free food, a patio bar, a silent auction, and raffles.
This fundraiser directly supports The Joy Ride, an annual charity ride that raises money for organizations providing life-saving services in HIV prevention, care, mental health, and housing. This year’s route takes riders from Orlando to St. Pete, with funds benefiting EPIC in Tampa, Miracle of Love in Orlando, Compass in Palm Beach County, Broward House in Broward County, and Pridelines in Miami.
“There are so many ways to get involved,” said Dylan Brooks, Director of HIV Prevention and Education at Compass. “No matter what’s going on, there is a place for you on The Joy Ride. Join us as a rider, crew, volunteer, or fundraiser. Together, we will continue to bring a little joy in these times.”
