There has been a lot of speculation as to what would happen if (G*d forbid) Donald Trump is elected president in 2024. A natural-born authoritarian, Trump might seek to govern in the image of Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Turkey’s Recep Erdogan, Hungary’s Viktor Orban and other dictators. Trump himself denied the charge somewhat, saying that he would only be a dictator on “Day One. We’re closing the border, and we’re [oil] drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator.” In other forums, Trump also promised to use the powers of the presidency to evade justice and punish his enemies.
Greetings OutSFL readers, Robby from Brooklyn here who is now Robby from Wilton Manors! A former Fort Lauderdale resident in the early 2010s I moved back to NYC for my family. Cut to 2016 when dad and sis vote for Trump and continue to vote Republican. I packed up my bags and left for good this summer. I LOVE being back in South Florida, minus the horrific political landscape for our community.
An overwhelming majority of Americans of all political stripes want Congress to fix immigration, and yet, Congress has failed to do so for decades.
Lawyers who represent the government in federal court face a never-ending and creative supply of First and 14th Amendment cases. Like overcooked spaghetti flung on a wall, most such Constitutional claims don’t stick. They hit a well-oiled wall of federal case law and slide right off.
Gay brothers, I sometimes fantasize about a group of us meeting regularly as 16-year-olds, led by a respected gay elder, and that we’d be visited weekly by mentors who talked about all aspects of gay life, from celebrating the feminine strengths of our male brains to the various ways men make love with one another. And we’d learn our history of contributions to the cultures in which we lived.
