With a new budget year looming on Oct. 1, city commissioners are finalizing costs. They voted on several important budget items during a budget-centric meeting on Sept. 12.
A small agenda had one big item. During their meeting on Sept. 10, Wilton Manors city commissioners approved a major pay increase for police officers.
After taking the usual summer hiatus, city commissioners returned to deal with a few issues at their Aug. 27 meeting.
The property tax rate in Wilton Manors is increasing by 10%. It sounds like a big number, but it could have been much higher.
The latest round of contract talks between the city of Wilton Manors and the Wilton Manors Police Dept. have produced a new deal that boosts salaries while also aiming to attract and retain experienced officers.
Wilton Manors’ public library is once again open to the community. The staff reopened the facility at 9 a.m. Aug. 26. All scheduled programs and meetings are back on as well. In other words, business as normal.
Florida Atlantic University graduate student Carolina Gonzalez-Lerma received the fourth annual Justin Flippen Memorial Scholarship from The Our Fund Foundation on Aug. 5.
With less than three months before voters head to the polls, there are many close races in South Florida and Broward County. The race to Wilton Manors’ mayor is not one of them.
