Wilton Manors has long been working to make the city friendlier to bicyclists and pedestrians, and an overhaul of 26th Street east of Five Points is a key part of the plan.
Welcome to the Wilton Manors Gazette where we cover all things Wilton Manors and Oakland Park.
Unanimous. That was the vote by Wilton Manors’ Planning and Zoning (P&Z) board when considering requests for redevelopment at Shoppes of Wilton Manors, aka Alibi Plaza. During a special meeting on Aug. 16, the board took eight votes on proposed redevelopment of the site and each time voted ‘yes’ to move forward.
The grand opening of Pub on the Drive’s new patio was just that: grand. But an unforeseen issue briefly tamped down enthusiasm. On Aug. 16, co-owner Mike Connell and his crew cut the red ribbon and officially opened their new back patio area, called Pride Hub at Pub On the Drive.
Ron DeSantis tried to silence drag queens. Now, they’re speaking out against him at the biggest event of his struggling campaign. The designs look amazing. Sweeping murals, a gracious entrance and an intimate pool deck could entice just about anyone. But the devil, as it often is, is in the details. Wilton Manors’ Development Review Committee (DRC) is charged with putting plans under a microscope and making sure every square foot meets city code. They have a list.
