Even with an annual budget of $52 million, every penny must be budgeted, and every penny must be accounted for. Essentially, every penny counts. Now the city is welcoming the appointment of a new person to keep track.
At Wilton Manors’ city commission meeting on Feb. 27, Nancy Muller was named as the city’s new Finance Director. She comes to Wilton from Severance, Colo., a city of about 8,500 people, which is similar but slightly smaller than Wilton Manors.
City Manager Leigh Ann Henderson says Mueller has 20 years of experience in public finance and management. Henderson says Wilton’s human resources department conducted an exhaustive search and recommended the commission approve her appointment.
Moments later on a voice vote, city commissioners approved her appointment with no vocal dissent.
Mueller replaces Pennie Zuercher, who retired at the end of November. Mueller is expected to start in early April.
