Jasmen Rogers is a force for equity, visibility, and transformation.
She remembers a powerful moment following her work co-planning a local Caribbean LGBTQ festival, where the impact of her efforts became crystal clear.
“Black women who attended were so grateful for the space and mentioned they didn't realize there was anything in Wilton Manors for them,” she said.
Rogers is the Founder and Principal Visionary of Folding Chair Consulting, an organization that partners with institutions to align internal and external strategies, elevate historically marginalized voices, and build power for those often excluded from decision-making.
She’s also actively involved in movements like We The Women Broward and BACK to BLAQ FL, two groups focused on racial, gender, and social justice in Florida.
Beyond that, Rogers lends her energy to organizations including Lucky Lightyear and The Skirt Foundation, and she served as the immediate past Chair of the Broward County Commission on the Status of Women — where she championed equity for women across the county.
Her leadership has earned her numerous accolades: she was named one of the 150 Most Influential People in Florida Politics, honored with the Frontline 40 Award, and delivered a TEDx Talk on power, justice, and belonging.
For Rogers, being out and proud means: “it’s about creating a safe space for other people so that they feel the privilege of also being affirmed and felt and seen and heard wherever they go. [It’s about] creating a safer world in our communities, in our families, in our businesses, our organization. It's about welcoming people into being openly themselves so that folks don't have to hide anymore.”
