Camille Danyell Lewis is a gifted orator.
Her eloquence when speaking routinely brings audiences to their feet. She has been encouraged to pursue a career as a motivational speaker, and it is on her ever-growing list of things to do as a true renaissance woman. Presently, she is the Executive Director of Color N Raw, an organization devoted to supporting black TLGBQ+ youth facing homelessness and other life challenges. She is also the founder of Shannon’s Mutual Aid and Bail Bonds, named in tribute to her brother.
“I believe in engaging in grassroots activism and community organizing because I am the community that I serve. I use my voice, talents and platform to amplify marginalized voices and advocate for policy changes that will advance social justice and equity,” Lewis said
When performing on stage, Lewis is known as Camille Dior Love. In 2024, she competed in the inaugural Mizz OUTSFL Pageant, where she was honored with the Marsha P. Johnson Award.
“Within the LGBTQ+ community, volunteering takes on a profound significance, serving as a catalyst for social progress, inclusion and support,” she said.
Lewis stands proud as an advocate for those who have been historically underrepresented by society.
“From LGBTQ+ youth shelters to HIV/AIDS outreach programs, I volunteer to contribute to creating safe spaces and dismantling barriers to equality. I dedicate my talent to all members of the LGBTQ+ community. I hope it inspires everyone to keep fighting and living our truth unapologetically,” Lewis said.
