Alexis Fernández is a self-described "entertainer and comedian in entertainment." Fernández is a drag veteran with 25 years of experience as a performer. Fernández is best known as his alter ego, Marytrini el Huracan, whom locals call 'the empress of transformism.'

Fernández draws inspiration from the legendary Celia Cruz and the diverse audience that adores Marytrini.

As Fernández puts it, "Miami is a melting pot of the best art and the most diverse Latin audiences," a testament to the city's rich cultural tapestry.

Marytrini, a beloved figure at Azucar Nightclub in Coral Gables, is renowned for her vibrant and unique performances that set any stage ablaze. Draped in colorful sequins and high heels, Marytrini's energy and excitement are a sight to behold at events in Miami and private functions.

But offstage, Fernández faced a health scare that, until recently, he kept away from the spotlight. He shared his prostate cancer diagnosis. Late last year, he had surgery, racking up tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses. He turned to GoFundMe, raising just under half of his $30.000 goal.

Recently, Fernández posted an update on social media. It was a photo of him smiling with the caption, "Thank you, God, for restoring my health and happiness."

As a vital part of Miami's cultural tapestry, Fernández's influence extends beyond his performances. He also dedicates his time to charity work in hospitals, where he brings joy to sick children and their families, highlighting his gift to uplift and inspire.
