Late last year, he had surgery, racking up tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses. He turned to GoFundMe, raising just under half of his $30.000 goal.
Recently, Fernández posted an update on social media. It was a photo of him smiling with the caption, "Thank you, God, for restoring my health and happiness."
