As rainbow crosswalks disappear in the shadow of tyranny, everything else is turning rainbow. That’s the case in Wilton Manors.
Welcome to the Wilton Manors Gazette where we cover all things Wilton Manors and Oakland Park.
Wilton Manors continues to support the organizations that support the community. During an unusually short meeting on Jan. 27, they voted to increase the city’s donation to the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County (ELC) from the proposed amount of $3,100 to $4,240. This matches the donation they made last year.
The atmosphere is electric around city hall, specifically in the parking lot. Wilton Manors debuted ten new charging stations for electric cars. They sit in the back corner of the parking lot at city hall.
With a population of about 12,000 and an emphasis on quality of life, Wilton Manors is a boutique city that’s long been in search of a boutique hotel. Over the years, several projects have been proposed only to quietly be abandoned before ever breaking ground.
There’s an unexpected twist, or tryst, in Wilton Manors’ years-long dream of getting a hotel in the city.
Any resident or frequent visitor to Wilton Manors likely drives past it at least once a week and never notices or thinks twice. It sits unassumingly nestled among the trees in Richardson Park on Wilton Drive. We’re talking about the Carriage House, which is the first building you drive past when you enter the parking lot.
