Moms for Liberty Co-Founder Gets Caught up in Sex Scandal

7. After her husband was accused of rape — and word spread that she was involved in threesomes — Bridget Ziegler’s colleagues on the Sarasota County School Board called for her to step down from her post.

Ziegler is also the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a virulently anti-LGBTQ group, and her husband, Christian Ziegler, serves as the chairman of the Florida GOP. Both have refused to resign from their posts. The school board voted in favor of her resignation, but they cannot oust her outright. Christian’s future in the Florida GOP remains to be seen, as the group will vote on whether he’s in or out on Jan. 8.

A woman who was in a relationship with the Zieglers told police and that Christian Ziegler showed up at her apartment and raped her after she backed out of a three-way when Bridget Ziegler was not available to participate. The complaint was filed on Oct. 4, according to the Florida Center for Government Accountability, and Christian Ziegler is accused of videotaping the encounters with his wife and the complainant.

“Our community has been rocked by the disturbing revelations surrounding my fellow School Board member Bridget Ziegler and the criminal allegations against her husband, Christian Ziegler,” school board chairwoman Karen Rose wrote.
