Oriental medicine, also known as Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a system of healthcare that uses a variety of methods to promote overall well-being and treat illness. Key practices include acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and mind-body exercises like Tai Chi and Qi Gong, which work to restore the body's balance of vital energy. It can be used as a complementary therapy alongside Western medicine.
OutSFL reached out to Dr. David G. Wells to learn more about his practice. This is what he told us: "As an Acupuncture Physician/Doctor of Oriental Medicine I am unique due to my extensive years of experience and training in both Eastern & Western medicine. My focus is on root-cause diagnosis and treatment for lasting results thanks to the advanced diagnostic methods I use which include German Auricular Medicine and Autonomic Response Testing, Frequency Specific Microcurrent coupled with acupuncture for accelerated healing. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Med, worked in emergency medicine as a paramedic for five years, completed training for HIV certification and offered free treatments to HIV positive individuals both in Denver and at Poverello Wellness Center right here in Wilton Manors.
“I also specialize in allergies and sensitivities, as well as mold and Lyme related illnesses. Winning the Readers' Choice Award means a lot to me, it shows how much our community values a physician who listens, explains diagnoses, treatment options and prices beforehand. And even after three decades in practice, I am constantly learning new skills and techniques to better serve the healthcare needs of our community. I am very honored.”
