Lety Gonzalez’s journey with Compass began long before she joined the staff. As an FAU student interested in public health and sexual health advocacy, she volunteered at Compass and quickly fell in love with its mission. Now, as the center’s Program Marketing and Media Director, she helps others find the same empowerment she once discovered within its wells.
Born in New York and raised in South Florida, Gonzalez identifies as an Afro-Latina, pansexual cis woman. She’s passionate about making health and wellness accessible, especially for communities that have been historically underserved.
At Compass, she’s helped expand visibility for harm reduction resources, community support groups, and sexual health education.
She also brings her passion for wellness into her personal life. Whether she’s paddleboarding with her daughter, practicing yoga, or strategizing Compass’s next campaign, Gonzalez’s work is rooted in compassion and connection.
“We’re just such a family at Compass,” Gonzalez said.
