SunServe is the most wonderful place Angela Kaczun has ever worked in regard to acceptance, fulfillment, and love. It is a nonprofit organization that works to provide aid and support in the form of therapy, life coaching, case managing, and so forth, to the LGBTQIA+ community. She is a Senior Youth and Family Therapist, and has been with the team for two years now.
“One of the biggest things we do here in the Youth department, aside from helping our youth, is teach parents about their children to foster a bond they might otherwise miss out on due to not understanding their kids,” she said. “We try to cover all areas of the community so no one feels left out, or without support.”
Kaczun said the LGBTQ community has made an impact on her, and she would like to think that she does the same.
“I hope to impact with empowerment, giving my clients a voice to love themselves, or their children, freely, and share and spread it with others. We're all meant to help and love one another, at the end of the day.”
However, hatred, uncertainty, and prejudice, which almost all stem from some sort of fear, can make her job difficult, as she put it.
