Her smile makes others smile. Her skills make others better. Michelle Santos is a Senior Youth Therapist at SunServe, a job that allows her to connect with members of the community in a one-on-one setting.

“I love what I do,” she said. “Working with youth has always been my passion.”

Working with LGBTQ youth is especially challenging in Florida. She says it can also be very rewarding.

“We always joke that it’s the dumpster fire because there’s always something to fight against. But I think the beauty of it is also seeing the resilience behind everybody and rallying as a community.”

SunServe runs many youth-oriented programs, including a new home for young adults struggling to get started in the world. She’s passionate about SunServe’s mission, and looks forward to expanding its reach.

“I would love to see SunServe outside the Broward area, expanding to other areas in Florida where it’s vital and needed.”

With her kindness, empathy, and professionalism, there’s no doubt she will.
