He’s a leather daddy and a cake daddy and he’s quickly becoming the godfather of Wilton Manors. Chuck King is a leather legend and more, taking his community involvement to the next level.
He founded Eagle Wilton Manors and turned it into a dark, thriving hotspot at the heart of the Drive. But it’s more than a leather clad bear cave. King hosts an array of community events including Pride functions, drag pageants, and town halls.
This year he launched Tropical Bear Week, an innovative and fun addition to LGBTQ South Florida’s season. The event drew bears (and their fans) to Wilton Drive and venues outside the city.
King and his Eagle are also the gold standard for the leather community. Mr. Eagle has finished in the top five at International Mr. Leather two years in a row.
He was also co-host of the inaugural Mz. OutSFL pageant. “I support the art of Drag, as well as Eagle Wilton Manors,” he said. “I’m proud to represent, and close the gap for the entire LGBTQ community.”
King also has a sweet tooth. He is an investor in Cake Daddy’s, a new bakery next to Ethos on Wilton Drive.
