LGBTQ Ally Ben Sorensen Retakes District 4 in Fort Lauderdale

He was gone but not forgotten, and now he’s back again.

Ben Sorensen has been reelected to his District 4 seat on the Fort Lauderdale City Commission.

“We did it,” he said.

Sorensen left the commission seat in 2022 in order to make a run for congress. He lost that election and chose to run again for municipal office.

He won the four-way race with 39.6% of the vote. The next closest candidate was Kevin Cochrane with 26%.

“I am humbled and excited to get to work for our community,” he said.
