Wilton Manors Called to Account

The city’s oversight of its contract with its parking company was the subject of a scathing report. $108,000 of questionable expenditures were found during the tenures of two finance directors: Robert Mays and Pennie Zuercher.
The report said, in simplified accounting terms, that no one in the city was seeing if the amount parking vendor Lanier said they put into accounts actually matched the city’s records.
The OIG report goes on to suggest that they may have been clueless on how to execute the seemingly simple task.
Zuecher retired in December 2023. Her replacement started in April and resigned July 31. The city is still searching for another finance director.
