Everybody uses the phrase “the new normal.” But this year’s Stonewall Pride Parade & Street Festival took us back to the old normal.
Founded in 1992, Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center has long been a cornerstone for Palm Beach County’s queer community. Every June, the organization caps off Pride Month with its most iconic event of the year: The Stonewall Ball, a glamorous fundraising gala honoring the legacy of the 1969 Stonewall Riots and fueling the fight for LGBTQ rights today.
Days in bomb shelters, seeing buildings reduced to rubble, and nights interrupted by air raids were a lot for Al Ferguson to live through and process. But the South Florida journalist’s final 14 hours in Israel would prove to be some of the most harrowing.
The 5th Annual Pride 5K at Nancy M. Graham Centennial Square on June 21 offers a vibrant blend of movement, community and celebration. Hosted by Night Runners West Palm Beach, the event promises to be the club’s biggest race yet, with more than 40 vendors, food trucks, and $2,000 in cash prizes on the line.
A star was truly born when Tayanna Love first knew that she wanted to perform on stage while still in elementary school. Fast-forward a couple of decades and Love is now the toast of the town wherever she goes and drag is performed.
