The weekend of March 28 and 29 is especially busy. Here’s the rundown on the weekend and some upcoming food festivals and special dining events.
Batch is turning up the heat for its Bourbon, Blues & BBQ Festival, bringing together bold pours, slow‑smoked meats, and live blues on Saturday, March 28, from 3-8 p.m. The festival includes bourbon tastings, specialty whiskey pours, cocktails, a whole smoked alligator, BBQ favorites, and a local vendor market. GA admission is $35, and includes unlimited samplings of bourbon, a commemorative shot glass, and entry to the event. The Fort Lauderdale Beer Wine & Spirits Festival, in Esplanade Park on March 28, gives hopheads a chance to savor unlimited samples of over 100 styles of beer, wine, and spirits. Food vendors will be available, should you need something to soak up the suds. There will be two sessions, 1-4:30 p.m. and 6-9:30 p.m., in order to accommodate crowds. Attendees must be 21 and older (as a bonus, no children, toddlers, infants, or strollers will be allowed, according to the website). Tickets are available at FloridaFests.com.
The Boca Street Fest in Mizner Park on March 28 will feature two stages of live entertainment, 100 local vendors/makers, food stations, and an open-air beer garden from noon–4 p.m. Admission is free.
The All People’s Day Diversity Festival is alive with live performances and free food tastings from restaurants and caterers March 28. It runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pompey Park in Delray Beach. For more information, go to AllPeoplesDay.org.
Palm Beach Pride & Parade is a two-day festival produced by Compass Community Center March 28-29. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, and 140 vendor booths. It all takes place at Bryant Park in Lake Worth Beach, from noon-6 p.m., the parade is on Sunday, at 11 a.m. Tickets are $16.27 in advance, $20 at the gate. Arc Culinary’s expert chefs set the stage for a four-course culinary journey, The Influence of Fusion on Friday, March 27. The adventure starts with tuna and salmon brisée, green pozole in tomato broth, herb-crusted NY strip, and caramel flan. Tickets for the chef experience dinner are $102 for the chef’s table or $92 for communal seating, including gratuity and alcoholic beverages. It’s not all taking place this weekend, here are a couple of events you should add to your calendar.
SAVOR SoFlo returns to the sands of Hollywood Beach on April 18 and 19 for its sixth year. It’s an event no foodie can afford to miss, and OutSFL’s Rick Karlin will be a judge for some of the events. GA is $120 and grants access to unlimited tastings, live entertainment, and full festival fun from 1-4 p.m. VIP tix are $150 and allow entry one hour earlier, and access to the VIP Spirits Lounge. Feeding South Florida will host its 15th Annual Outrun Hunger 5K on Saturday, April 4. Runners, walkers, groups, and community leaders of all ages will come together to take steps to raise funds and awareness to end hunger in South Florida at Vista View Park in Davie.
