Winter Party Festival the annual, week-long celebration of music, dance, and community, produced by the National LGBTQ Task Force to raise critical funds for the LGBTQ movement, takes place Feb. 28–March 5, in Miami Beach and Wilton Manors.

Said to be the first installment in a trilogy, “Drive-Away Dolls” (Focus), which was originally titled “Drive-Away Dykes” marks Ethan Coen’s solo narrative directorial debut. Co-written by Coen and his out lesbian wife Tricia Cooke (seriously, Google it), “Drive-Away Dolls” harkens back to early Coen brothers films “Blood Simple” (the violence) and “Raising Arizona” (the comedic, rapid-fire dialogue and situations). Additionally, there is the presence of queer characters, something the filmmakers dabbled with in “Miller’s Crossing,” “The Man Who Wasn’t There,” and especially “Hail, Caesar!”

Gabe Salazar is a seasoned conductor with over 20 years of experience. In his third season leading the chorus, Salazar has brought together a vibrant community of more than 180 singing members. His passion for music and teaching is evident through his extensive background in conducting and education at all levels. He is the artistic director and conductor of the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida.

The Our Fund Foundation and Presenting Sponsor Bank of America Private Bank hosted the Fifth Annual South Florida LGBTQ Philanthropy Awards which celebrated outstanding philanthropy, volunteerism, and emerging leadership. The sold-out event, which included a cocktail reception and awards ceremony, was held at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 3.
