It’s not too late to plan a trip to St. Pete with the Front Runners and Walkers of Fort Lauderdale (FRWFL).
The organization provides LGBTQ people and allies a safe and inclusive space to stay active through weekly running and walking clubs as well as special events.
FRWFL is participating in the St. Pete Run Fest on the weekend of Nov. 14-16. The Run Fest allows runners and walkers to participate in a variety of races and marathons, including a 5k, 10k and half-marathon.
You can arrange your own travel accommodations or join FRWFL in shared housing for $200 per person. The house can accommodate up to 16 people. You can reach out to the organization’s president Eric Runyan at
If you’re interested in joining the group or simply want to go to cheer runners on, fill out the signup form on their website.
There’s still time to register for a race, but late fees will apply. It costs $80.56 to sign up for a 10k and $65.15 for a 5k.
