"Gabriela and His Grace" by Liana De la Rosa.

If you're a huge romance fan, then check out "Gabriela and His Grace" by Liana De la Rosa.

What was your inspiration behind your most recent book?

"Gabriela and His Grace" is the third book in the Luna Sisters series, and the main characters have been bickering throughout the series, so readers have been anticipating their romance. A big influence for their book was taking the story to Mexico, the Luna sisters’ homeland. I loved getting to explore Mexico at this time in history and imagine what life would have been like for Gabby and Sebastian as they lived in San Luis Potosí, where the Mexico part of the book is set.

What does Reading Rainbow mean to you?

Reading Rainbow means reading with intentionality. Thinking about the books you’re consuming and ensuring you’re seeking out diverse stories and perspectives.

Why do you feel representation of a variety of people is so important when it comes to writing books?

Every reader deserves to see themselves in the pages of a book. Our world is vast and varied, and the books we read should reflect that. It’s important for me to show historical Latine women living their best lives, despite adversity, because as a Latine reader myself, I want to see women who look like me in beautiful gowns being courted by handsome men who love and respect them wholeheartedly.

Tell us a little more about the book and why you decided to write it.

"Gabriela and His Grace" sees the youngest and most fiery Luna sister, Gabby, stuck on a ship headed to Mexico with her nemesis, Sebastian, the Duke of Whitfield. She thinks he’s an unrepentant rake and he thinks she’s a shrew, but over the course of the trip, they begin to see each other with new eyes and their mutual dislike turns to passion. I’m a sucker for a good enemies/antagonists to lovers romance, and Gabby and Sebastian’s story allowed me to play with this dynamic between two series favorites.

What can fans expect from your book?

The final Luna Sisters book offers a refreshing glimpse of life in 1860s Mexico, and all of the yearning and pining you could ask for!

What's up next for you in the bookish world?

My debut contemporary romance, "MUTUAL DISCORD," is out next summer, August 2026. It’s about a Latina influencer who highlights the theft of women’s scientific and entrepreneurial innovations who finds her own heart stolen by the one man she can’t have: her best friend’s boyfriend.
