Giving back has taken Michael Goodman a long way.
“My biggest thing is gratitude,” said Goodman, describing his philosophy on life. “For me it’s peace, love and happiness and where can I help, especially for our community.”
The South Florida native is a major player in public relations with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from Tri-Rail to the Museum of Science & Discovery. Goodman’s PR firm recently celebrated 10 years in business, a milestone the 60-year-old achieved through good old fashioned hard work.
Goodman graduated with a degree in mass communications from Florida Atlantic University in 1986, putting himself through school by working three jobs.
It was while organizing special events for Macy’s that Goodman drew the attention of Broward House and was hired to manage community relations.
Goodman has won many awards for pro bono work and has served on numerous boards for arts groups, chambers of commerce and municipalities.
He is the past chair of the Florida Theatrical Association and an investor in Lips with five drag palaces in the United States. Goodman splits his time between homes in Oakland Park and Palm Springs, California and is acclaimed as Michael Dean as Cher — one of the leading Cher impersonators in the country.
