If you see him, you can’t miss him. With his signature beard and on-point jewelry game, Marc Martorana is very recognizable - and he gets recognized everywhere.
His love of community manifests itself in Wilton Manors and in the broader South Florida LGBTQ community. He’ll co-chair events, sell tickets and tables to galas, and will march and yell at civil rights rallies and events.
But what sets his generosity and spirit apart is that he also goes the extra mile – in his kitchen. If you get invited to an event that Martorana is catering, say yes! His culinary skills are top notch and mouth watering. Luckily, he’s willing to share his food with the community.
From town halls to events in the home he shares with husband Don D’Arminio, he creates menus to fit each event and make sure there’s enough for everyone to get seconds.. and thirds!
“We hosted an event for the Big Easy Queens [film] featuring many of our local Wilton Manors Performers,” he told OutSFL. “The movie was set in New Orleans, so our menu had a southern flare including chicken & waffles and shrimp jambalaya. We also had a jazz band performing at that event.”
Recently he hosted and catered a brunch for OutSFL’s staff after our debut Mz OutSFL pageant, and again for a pre-pride party that was a fundraiser for FlockFest.
