Jenn Stefanacci Portier likes to make things happen. That’s how 22&Co. came into existence when Portier, clad in a tutu, hopped into her mom’s golf cart to deliver birthday greetings around Key West.
“It became a thing during COVID,” Portier recalled. “Everyone was obviously not in the best headspace during that time so along we came to cheer them up.”
The birthday grams gig kept Portier’s glitter filled bar afloat during the pandemic. Today, it thrives inside the Aqua complex off Angela Street.
“If you walk into 22s, and it doesn’t make you smile, then you shouldn’t be in there. We want to bring joy to everyone – human and dog,” she said.
Through her board work at the Key West Business Guild, Portier helps produce Pride events and other activities supporting the LGBTQ community. She is a true believer in the island’s “One Human Family” motto.
“My husband and I are fierce allies of the LGBTQ community and always have been,” she said.
Portier grew up in New Jersey and returned this summer to help organize the first Seaside Pride. For her next act, she plans to open another 22&Co. in West Palm Beach.
