Meet Ground Zero, a transgender male and Latinx variety entertainer Palm Beach County. He has built an impressive reputation for being known as "The Cosplay King" due to his standout performances and stellar costumes.
Zero utilizes stilt-walking, daring sideshow feats, and fire during his performances to captivate audiences. His talent clearly goes beyond what you would expect from a drag king.
Beyond the stage, Ground Zero uses his platform to volunteer for several organizations like Compass Community Center and Inspire Recovery. Whether rallying support through fundraising initiatives or delivering impactful speeches on transgender struggles and triumphs, Zero remains a beacon of inspiration and inclusivity in Palm Beach's vibrant cultural landscape.
Ground Zero recently made history by winning Mr. Palm Beach Pride. This was the first time Palm Beach awarded this title to anyone. He received an impressive 43.24% of the votes. The community was able to vote via social media.
"It feels amazing to have been considered for this! Drag Kings often go overlooked, and I myself have been told by venues that they simply do not see or understand the value in having entertainers like me,” Ground Zero said. “I'm breaking the mold to show others like me that we are a wanted and amazing part of this community.”
