David Jobin is the President and CEO of the Our Fund Foundation. The organization creates positive community change and addresses urgent issues facing the LGBTQ+ communities.
He was named 'Person of the Year' for South Florida Gay News in 2018 due to his impactful leadership in South Florida's philanthropic community.
"I work at the intersection of wealth and need," he said. “I work alongside people who have the resources to give back and alongside people in organizations that represent the most needy in our community."
Jobin has spent his entire career working in the nonprofit sector. For the past 15 years, he's focused on LGBTQ issues. Before joining Our Fund, he was the Executive Director of the Stonewall National Museum & Archives. Before living in Florida, Jobin was the Executive Director of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington. He's also lived in Pittsburgh and San Francisco.
Jobin is an affable, friendly guy and just the kind of person you’d want on the frontlines fighting for important issues. Despite recent adversity, specifically Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoing most state funding for arts programs in Florida, Jobin remains optimistic about the future of philanthropy and South Florida's arts and culture.
"I think people appreciate how vital the arts and culture scene is in South Florida," Jobin explained. "How fortunate we are to have LGBT arts and culture. We have more LGBT theater companies here than any city in the country. That's significant. We don't take second place to any city in the country when it comes to arts and culture for LGBT people."
Jobin and his husband, Angel Burgos, have been married for 13 years.
