Oct. 1 was National Black Dog Appreciation day, but at the Humane Society of Broward County it is National Dog Day every day, and it doesn’t matter if you’re black, tan, white, brown, spotted, or striped…there are always great dogs waiting to be adopted!
Once such dog is beautiful Zoey, a Labrador mix who is just over a year old. Fortunately, Zoey was transferred to the HSBC from a shelter in Madison County, FL a day before hurricane Helene left a path of destruction. Zoey and 14 other dogs were in a shelter that only had outdoor kennels and was prone to flooding. All are safe now at the HSBC and waiting for loving families to adopt them. Zoey is sweet, outgoing, and eager to be spoiled. Can you make her wish come true?
To meet Zoey (ID 689030), or any other pet, visit www.humanebroward.com and fill out the pre-adoption application. The adoption kennels at the Humane Society of Broward County open daily at 11 a.m. and appointments are not necessary. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977 ext. 6. Can’t adopt but want to help, stop by the shelter’s Pet Boutique and get a goodie for your four-legged or two-legged friends.
