Lace up your sneakers and leash up your furry friends! The Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) invites animal lovers of all ages to take part in the 2026 VCA Walk for the Animals on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the scenic Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park in Fort Lauderdale.
This year’s official Cover Dog is Bobby, a 3-year-old Labrador/Pit mix who resides in Fort Lauderdale. Bobby embodies the joy and love pets bring into our lives. Once a foster pup, Bobby quickly found his forever home when his foster dad, Donald, realized he couldn’t part with him. Today, Bobby is described as “an absolute joy” and will proudly serve as the furry face of the 2026 Walk.
The Walk is a beloved annual tradition that brings together thousands of pet enthusiasts for a morning filled with fun, community spirit, and, of course, wagging tails — all in support of homeless animals in need. Walkers can participate as individuals or form a “Pack” (team) with family, friends, or coworkers. The more money participants raise, the more exclusive goodies they’ll earn as a thank-you for their generosity.
“We are thrilled to welcome the community back for another incredible Walk for the Animals,” said Carey Morgan Walk Co-Chair. Joining Carey as Co-Chair is Michelle Watson who says, “Every step taken and every dollar raised goes directly toward helping us provide shelter, medical care, and second chances for thousands of homeless pets each year.”
Participants can enjoy a morning filled with music, entertainment, vendor booths, and plenty of four-legged fun. Whether you’re walking to honor a beloved pet, to support the mission of the Humane Society, or just to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow animal lovers, your participation makes a difference. Registration is now open! To sign up as an individual or start your own Pack, visit www.walk4theanimals.com. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
