Earlier this month, Freddie Mac reported the average interest rate on a 30-year home loan rose to 7.57% from 7.49%; a 20-year-high. Many would-be buyers remember (perhaps sorely) that rates were as low as 2.5% only a few years ago. 

The Palm Beach County School Board followed through with their promise from last month’s meeting: the resolution proclaiming October as LGBT History Month passed with a 5-0 vote from the board, no discussion among the board members, and little pushback from public comment.

The Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale had quite the summer. For one, the museum was selected as one of just four in the nation to receive this year’s National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Second, that meant a trip to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

What started as a pandemic era way to celebrate Pride has turned into a philanthropic leader in Broward County’s LGBTQ community. FLoatarama held its second annual check presentation on Oct. 12, and the money raised will have a real impact on local organizations.

As John F. Kennedy said, “There is a connection, hard to explain logically but easy to feel, between achievement in public life and progress in the arts.”

The song never remains the same for the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF). The group is always growing and accepting new members on stage and behind the scenes. Now they’re announcing the newest member of their board: Bradley Bush.
