I’m a straight girl dating a guy. Recently, he told me he wants to be pegged. I don’t want to sex shame him, and I’m open to the idea, but now I’m worried he’s gay and just in the closet. Should I encourage him to explore with other guys just to be sure? How can I know for sure he’s straight now?

It’s important to remember that sexual preferences and fantasies don’t necessarily always correlate with a person’s sexual orientation. Men from all over the sexual spectrum enjoy pegging because it unlocks a man’s g-spot and allows for the full experience of physical pleasure. Wanting to stimulate the prostate doesn’t necessarily have to do with your partner’s sexual identity, but rather the desire to experience the physical pleasure available. You may be surprised at the outcome of sex with your partner after he has been stimulated. Your partner is communicating with you openly and honestly and that means he respects you, but also that he is asking to explore pleasure with you in a new way. If you are open to a new adventure, you can approach this as a shared exploration. You may find that this is an opportunity to deepen your trust and intimacy with your partner. Try not to make any conclusions about your partner's orientation. Wanting to fully experience all the pleasure available to a man does not necessarily mean that he is gay. Ultimately, you know your relationship the best. Trust your instincts and listen to your gut.
