Last night, my bestie Sharma were treated ourselves to a night out to see Clue at the Adrienne Arsht Center, and honestly, it was exactly the chaotic, hilarious escape we didn’t know we needed.
From the second we stepped into the theater, the energy felt electric. And once the show began? Forget it.
I was instantly swept into the wild, twisty world of Boddy Manor. The staging alone was a whole experience, with walls sliding, doors popping open, characters darting through secret passages like they were competing in some kind of high-stakes comedic obstacle course. It felt like watching a classic whodunit collide with a live-action cartoon in the best way possible.
What really sold it for me was the cast’s commitment to full-tilt theatrical absurdity. Every suspicious glance, exaggerated pose, and dramatic gasp landed perfectly.
You could feel the audience leaning in with every tease of a clue, then laughing out loud when the tension snapped into pure comedy. And yes, the iconic “It was ___ in the ___ with the ___!” moments were just as fun and nostalgic as you’d hope, but with an extra wink for longtime fans of the movie and board game.
Sharma and I kept elbowing each other each time we thought we had the killer figured out. Spoiler: we absolutely did not. The show stays two steps ahead of you the entire time, building to an ending that’s playful, ridiculous, and surprisingly satisfying. It’s camp, it’s chaos, it’s clever, and everything you want in a live-theater reimagining of a cult classic.
And, yes, this is totally a “see it again and bring your friends” show. It’s one that definitely offers a surprise every single time.
If you’re craving a night of pure fun, with comedy, mystery, nostalgia, and a touch of theatrical mayhem, then Clue is absolutely worth the outing.
Grab your bestie, grab a cocktail, and get ready to laugh your way through murder.
Clue, presented by Broadway in Miami, will run at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House from December 2–7, 2025 at 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. For tickets and details, visit arshtcenter.org.
