Flag football season has already started, but it isn’t too late to join.
Registration is open through Sept. 4 with the South Florida Flag Football League, a nonprofit organization that balances athletic fun with community engagement.
You can join new players, open division or women’s league. Registration costs anywhere from $80-100, depending on when you sign up and for which league. All leagues play through Nov. 22.
Founded in 2007, the South Florida Flag Football League has expanded from three to 10 teams. Aside from regular season play, they participate in larger events such as the Gay Bowl, Florida Sunshine Cup and the Pride Bowl.
“All skill levels are encouraged to join SFFFL regardless of skill level,” the South Florida Flag Football website reads. “We offer a great way for players to meet new people, stay active and have fun on and off of the field.”
