From tournaments to relaxed leagues, the South Florida Amateur Association (SFAAA) has a little something for everyone to try out.
SFAAA is an inclusive softball league that provides a safe space for LGBTQ people and allies to compete and participate in the sport.
The league will host its annual Hurricane Showdown on Thanksgiving weekend from Nov. 28-30. Teams must submit their rosters by Nov. 14 to be eligible for the tournament. It costs $450 for two days of play and $350 for three. All divisions are welcome to compete in the tournament, including Legends, Upper, C, D and E.
Even if your team doesn’t advance far, there’s a five-game guarantee when you register.
SFAAA’s Under the Lights program will return next year, which welcomes players of all skill levels to practice and compete with one another in weekly meetups. Registration opens on Dec. 15 and costs $35. Opening night will be held on Jan. 29, and weekly games will follow until Feb. 26. Meetups and games will be held every Thursday.
As Halloween draws to a close, these opportunities with SFAAA will be a sure way to beat the winter blues.
