Houston, get ready to welcome gay softball players.

The South Florida Amateur Athletics Association (SFAAA) is sending multiple teams to this year’s Gay Softball World Series in Houston, Texas.

The event, hosted by International Pride Softball, takes place from Sept. 21-27. SFAAA is sending 16 teams to the Gay Softball World Series, including the Silverhawks, Silver Strokers, Swinging Fossils and Phantoms.

In order to play in the Gay Softball World Series, teams must qualify within an International Pride Softball member association. All 16 teams headed to the tournament qualified within the league.

The SFAAA is also preparing to host its annual Hurricane Showdown tournament in Fort Lauderdale, where teams compete all weekend for the top crown. That event will be held on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 28-30.

Though the group’s fall season has already kicked off, there are plenty of upcoming opportunities to show your support for the SFAAA and prepare for next season.
