Dust off your cleats and stretch out those muscles –– it’s softball time.
The South Florida Amateur Athletics Association (SFAAA) is hosting two recruitment sessions on Aug. 10 and 17 at Floranada Park. Those who want to play with the league this season must attend one of those sessions to receive an Ipride rating, which assesses your softball abilities and skills.
Check-in is at 9 a.m. on both days, and the skills assessment starts at 10 a.m.
"SFAAA Softball is more than just a league; it's a family," Rocky Bowell, the league's commissioner, said. "We pride ourselves on creating a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community to come together, have fun, and build lasting connections. Our Recruitment Days are the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in joining our league and becoming part of this incredible community."
Though these sessions are meant to assess your abilities, players of all skill levels are welcome to join the league.
Opening Day for the fall season is on Sept. 7, and games will be played through November. To pre-register for the recruitment sessions, visit www.sfaaasoftball.com/
