The South Florida Amateur Athletic Association (SFAAA) is gearing up for its annual Hurricane Showdown tournament, which hosts softball teams of various divisions and skill levels in a weekend full of competition and fun.
The tournament will be held from Nov. 28-30. While the South Florida community is ready to cheer on local teams, there are almost 60 teams from other associations around the country that will be competing, including in Atlanta, Tampa, Chicago and Orlando.
“I look forward to hosting all the teams from across the country," Tournament Director Josh Yeager said. "It is truly special seeing all the players and fans come to spend the holiday weekend here playing a game they love."
In South Florida, games will be held at Mills Pond Park, Tradewinds Park and Brian Piccolo Park. Championship games will take place at Mills Pond Park on Sunday afternoon. All games are free to attend, but Tradewinds Park and Brian Piccolo Park do charge a vehicle entry fee.
The fun doesn’t stop at the games, however. Alibi Monkey Bar is hosting an early bird registration party on Nov. 26, and there will be registration open at LIT Bar on Nov. 27.
Whether you’re playing or going to cheer players on, it looks to be another historic Hurricane Showdown.
