When Nick Dent was a 21-year-old bodybuilder, he got a phone call one evening from a talent scout with an offer he couldn’t refuse.
“He wanted to know if I wanted to be in Playgirl,” Dent recalled. “Back then, everybody knew that magazine. It was the cream of the crop.”
A photoshoot in Bellingham, Washington set the stage and when those pictures circulated, calls came in from Los Angeles and soon a star was born.
“Magazines was how it started, and it’s been quite a ride,” he said.
Dent’s Reese Rideout character is one of the adult industry’s most resilient and decorated performers. In 2025, Rideout won Xbiz Male Creator of the Year and GayVN Best Bi Scene.
The 42-year-old Oregonian primarily works with men and is hesitant to put a label on his sexuality. Dent said he is grateful for the support of his gay fans and considers himself a strong ally of the LGBTQ community.
“Everybody’s on the Kinsey Scale, and it fluctuates from time to time, later in the night after more drinks,” he joked. “For me, it’s a small percentage on the men side, and I just film with men for business.”
Rideout’s content harnesses the emerging power of AI with whimsical scenes showing the muscle stud flying in space, running at super speed or being tossed around the pool by former WWE superstar Matthew Riddle.
In his personal life, Dent and his wife Becky recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. When they visit South Florida, the couple stays at the home of Howard Andrew, whose company, FabScout Entertainment, has represented Rideout for 18 years.
“Howard really looks over and watches out for everyone. Almost like a Papa Bear. Actually, my wife is the only female he’ll let in his house,” Dent said.
