The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s eighth annual holiday performance is coming to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. This year’s featured guest star is Todrick Hall. Todrick Hall's career is a testament to his unparalleled versatility as a performer and creative visionary. Rhapsody in Blue
South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO), led by the award-winning Sebrina María Alfonso, will launch its 2024-25 “Icons & Rebels” Masterworks season with “100 Years of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue,” an anniversary tribute to one of popular culture’s most beloved masterpieces, featuring pianist Benjamin Hochman. The programs will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at The Parker and on Saturday, Nov. 16, at New World Center, Miami Beach. George Gershwin shocked critics with “Rhapsody in Blue” when it debuted in 1924. They did not know how to process the unconventional work Gershwin’s melding of American jazz and classical music. The Long Weekend
Pigs Do Fly Productions will present Canadian Playwright Norm Foster’s “The Long Weekend,” a comedy of manners filled with numerous plot twists and a tangled web of truths, deceptions, and surprises. The production will run from Nov. 1 - 24 at Empire Stage. As the play opens Max and Wynn are preparing to show off their beautiful new summer home to their best friends, Roger and Abby. What is meant to be a relaxing holiday weekend turns into a battle of wits as their pasts catch up with them, the gloves come off, and old scores are settled in comedic fashion. Art and All That Jazz
