The third time was the charm for Angie Ovahness Pryce, the new Mizz OutSFL. She took the crown on May 4 at the United Church of Christ in Fort Lauderdale. This is the third year for the pageant and her third attempt.

“I was so excited. I’ve done this pageant consistently three times and I finally did it,” she said just moments after being crowned.

Everyone in the house knew what was coming. As top performer in each category was announced, Pryce had captured multiple categories and had been wowing the crowd all night.

“I felt like I had it after question and answer [category]. I felt confidence and I felt for sure. If I didn’t seal the deal before, I definitely sealed the deal in question and answer.”

OutSFL co-owner and pageant producer Justin Wyse has enjoyed watching Pryce grow.

“Over the last three years I have had the privilege to get to know Angie and her work speaks for itself. Last night the third time was a charm and she absolutely killed it. When you're on, you're on and Angie showed everyone why she deserved the crown.”

She says taking the title after three tries isn’t an ending, but a beginning.

“I have many things planned, many things that I’m going to accomplish. First things first, I wanna host my own car wash. Everybody needs a car wash.”

That car wash and other philanthropic fundraisers will benefit TransInclusive Group.

Each contestant competed for a cause that is close to their hearts. Runner up, Lupita Hollywood, competed for Lake Worth Playhouse, Jamie LaChoy for Imperial Sun Court of All Florida, Kimberly Venom for TransSOCIAL Mayfaire, and Amy Drymouth for Suitcases of Love.

Beyond the glitz and the glamour of the night, the goals of the Mizz OutSFL pageant are to celebrate, uplift and empower community.

“As a media company we have a responsibility to support our community through story telling,” Wyse said. “Mizz Out South Florida does so much more, uplifting the philanthropic work our entertainers do everyday in our community.”

The crowning moment came after a long day. Contestants showed up before noon for the interview portion of the competition. Guest artists who performed between categories came through for sound check, caterers showed up with Italian cuisine and more.

But before Pryce took the crown, Velvet Lenore, the reigning Mizz OutSFL 2025, took her last walk across the stage and reflected on her year.

“This pageant system gave me a reason to simply be myself. I thank you for supporting me. I thank you for all loving me on the good and the bad. At the end of the day we all have to have each other’s back.”

As part of her representation, Pryce will be featured in this year’s Stonewall Pride parade on June 20.
