Is the city of Oakland Park targeting LGBTQ adult businesses? That’s what many are asking after the abrupt closure of Wilton Social Club (WSC), an adult sauna similar to Club Fort Lauderdale.
Earlier this month, Freddie Mac reported the average interest rate on a 30-year home loan rose to 7.57% from 7.49%; a 20-year-high. Many would-be buyers remember (perhaps sorely) that rates were as low as 2.5% only a few years ago.
The City of Oakland Park approved the 2024 fiscal year budget of $142 million. It’s Oakland Park’s largest and most ambitious budget – ever. The City Commission has over $26 million earmarked for the Capital Improvement Program, a five-year project representing an investment of over $130 million.
As the cost of Wilton Manors real estate continues to rise, the hip and savvy are moving north to Oakland Park, and have been for some time.
A church in Oakland Park was set ablaze earlier this month, and law enforcement is trying to identify the person behind the arson.
