Wearing a rainbow-feathered outfit, Real Housewives of Miami’s Marysol Patton set the tone for the day, saying “Love who you wanna love, and fuck who you wanna fuck! Yeah!” Hundreds of LGBTQ and allies roared with approval.
Patton was serving as the FLoatarama Grand Marshal and the ROHM icon was the center of attention everywhere she went on the yacht. Walking around with her bougie, blinged out cup, she posed for photos, chatted, and was just one of the crowd.
She gets asked to show up at dozens of events a year, so it was very intentional when she said yes to FLoatarama. “I’m very proud of what they’re doing to help LGBTQ+ youth in South Florida and I just want to be a part of the community. I think they do an amazing job. They work tirelessly.”
The day started out on Bokampers’ deck with the South Florida Pride Jazz Band welcoming everyone as they grabbed mimosas for the pre-party. Former Grand Marshal Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz capped the sendoff by sharing some cruising motivation.
“This is all about making sure we do the most good for the most people,” she said. “The LGBTQ community in South Florida and Broward County is a remarkably generous, active community that shows up and shows out.”
Once on board people danced while grazing on the buffet and washing it down with the open bar.
Last year’s Grand Marshal, Alex Miranda, returned this year as emcee. “It is an amazing event. You are supporting all of LGBTQ youth in South Florida. Not just Broward but in Miami-Dade for incredible causes."
Sam Lantz from Squid Game: The Challenge and 2024’s Grand Marshal, also returned. He wasn’t there in an official role. Lantz came just because he supports FLoatarama.
“Where can you do better than when you’re doing good and having fun? You don’t need to feel bad about yourself for going out and having a great time.”
Bokampers also hosted the after party, which was just as entertaining as the cruise. The amazing TP Lords performed Everybody’s Free (to Feel Good). A pair of guys, who have core for days, spun through the air using water to propel them. They ended the show with one flying through the air with a Pride flag while the other grabbed a champagne bottle and filled Patton’s cup.
