South Florida is a true haven for foodies. The area’s diverse community and the fact that people from all backgrounds call this place home make it easy for locals and visitors to find a proper place to dine based on their tastes.
Delray Beach is one of those places where you can find a great restaurant in every corner. There are two places that we visited recently that are perfect for a special night out, no matter where in South Florida you might be coming from.
Check them out below and make sure to plan a visit to these unique spots.
City Oyster & Sushi Bar
City Oyster & Sushi Bar is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy a night out with a delectable dinner. The restaurant, located on Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach, offers such a great an extensive menu that it merits a visit. The restaurant is the type of place where visitors can come with friends and family that enjoy seafood, sushi, and even perfectly prepped steaks.
During our visit, we had the chance to try out the mussels, which came on a plate that’s ready to share with others, thanks to the generous amount offered. The sushi is extremely fresh, and you can see it being prepared at the gorgeous sushi bar while dining.
As for seafood dishes, their specials and fish offerings change daily. The restaurant offers the fish of your choice blackened, sautéed or grilled. We also recommend the lobster bisque, some oysters and don’t shy away from their steaks. The 8-ounce Filet of Beef is a perfect cut of steak, and you can even add a blue cheese crust, truffle aioli or a side of Jumbo Lump Crab Oscar.
Their cocktail list is extensive, and they make the best Cosmopolitan cocktail and classic cocktails such as a Dirty Martini or Old-Fashioned. Lastly, the wine list is extensive, offering international wines such as Malbec, Tempranillo and a choice of whites, including Oaked Chardonnays. Make sure to set aside time to visit for brunch and enjoy their happy hour specials.

Atlantic Grille at the Seagate Hotel
This hidden gem at the Seagate Hotel is extremely classy, beautiful, and full of attentive staff who make sure that you have the best dinner. While there, we had the chance to sit outdoors and enjoy the sights of people strolling through and driving through Atlantic Avenue, since the hotel is tucked away towards the end of the strip closer to the beach.
The hotel has a gorgeous aquarium that will greet you when you walk in (don’t forget to take pictures!) which is impressive. It’s 450-gallons, and you can spot all sorts of fish and seafood creatures such as sharks, and coral inside. When you are here, you come for the fresh seafood, great wine list and cocktails. The restaurant’s inviting dining room showcases the spot’s nautical-themed elements, and it boasts the fact that it offers fresh fish and seafood dishes that you cannot ignore. The fresh raw bar options such as ahi tuna crudo, grilled Spanish octopus, crispy skin branzino Veracruz, and a delectable lobster risotto bass Oscar, are all top dishes that you must try (we recommend ordering a nice selection and sharing!).
The lobster risotto bass oscar proves how inventive and classic the restaurant is, especially since it shows off the fresh seafood that it’s known for by mixing the best of the best on one plate. Think of it as a filling and well-crafted dish prepared with lobster, grilled asparagus, and garlic mash accompanied by hollandaise sauce.
Not into seafood as much? That’s not an issue, for the restaurant offers some delicious cuts of meat and beef dishes such as the Wagyu steak frites, grilled heritage pork chop with crispy latkes, and the Islamorada IPA-braised short rib. This restaurant proves that the Seagate Hotel knows how to entice visitors, with some amazing food and ambiance.
